Very few of the webcam sites I've reviewed have gone through as extensive a make-over as Cams.com. Once a strictly premium chat site (sites where the revenue is generated mostly via private chats), Cams.com has transformed into a sort of hybrid webcam site, with a mix of tip-based and private shows combined with an emphasis on subscription-based services like fan clubs and premium memberships.
Let's take a look and see what's new, what's good and what's not.

One thing is clear about the revised Cams.com: There is an emphasis on connecting with the performers via a combination of free and paid content as well as the enticement of a monthly fee-based (approx. $12 USD) fan club providing a discount on private shows and access to a performer's video and photo gallery.
As well, there has been extensive work put into performer profile pages and it shows, featuring a performer activity list, comprehensive ratings/reviews, easy navigation, access to video/photo galleries and much more.
Take advantage of the many icons available on a performer's thumbnail photo from the main page (or any category/search result). Not only do you get the usual details: Name, age, country, etc. but whether they have audio, are broadcasting in HD, if Buzzmode or Connexion are available, an option to add them to your favorites list or even move them to the bottom of the page(!)
If you prefer private chats than tip-based group shows, the Premiere Membership (~$15 USD/month) gives you 10% off all private shows as well as a few free recorded videos each month.
While most content you'll have to pay for, quite a few performers offer a selection of at least a few photos and recorded sessions for free. The rest - including custom videos - cost tokens (see Chat Rates below).
As far as the performers themselves, while there are categories for everything from women to men to TS/TV, lesbians, couples and even threesomes, you'll find that the latter categories are lacking and some clearly don't belong (a solo woman in the lesbians category, for example).
The site supports two forms of interactivity: Buzzmode and Connexion. Buzzmode is available in public/free chats and is activated for the performer via tips. You'll find out about this pretty quickly as there is a pop-up mentioning it in every room you enter where it's available. Gets annoying quickly.
Connexion is intended for Lovense users in private chats as it can be used in two-way mode: She (or he, or they) control your sex toy as well as you controlling theirs.
Cams.com uses a token system where a token will cost you between $0.10 and $0.12 per token, depending on which package you buy.
For private shows, you'll find most performers charge between 30 and 55 or so tokens/minute (roughly converting to $3.00 up to $5.50/minute if you buy the most expensive token package, $3.60 to $6.60 if you opt for the cheapest one).
Party chats are basically group chats where each viewer can participate but you have to share her attention with the others. You would expect the cost to be cheaper as you are forgoing a private show, and to be fair, it is, but from what I saw the difference is 5 tokens on average (roughly $0.50/minute). That's far less of a deal than it should be. Stick to private shows.
◊ Private chats, Party chats, interactive shows (Buzzmode in free/group chat and 2-way Connexion in private) as well as tip-based group shows.
◊ Extensive performer profiles with ratings, reviews, recorded sessions, custom videos, photo gallery, awards, gifts, activities and more.
◊ The mobile sites is good as far as they typically go, though personally I could not download their app. Yes, I know all about setting the security options on my phone, just didn't work for me but you may have better luck.
◊ Fan Clubs and Premier membership give you special discounts on shows, access to performer videos and typical VIP-type treatment.
I'm tempted to say "I love what you've done with the place", and for the most part I do: Cams.com has introduced plenty of new features in an effort to keep pace with the changing adult webcam market.
I like the new layout, the chat interface and the wealth of performer content, however, perhaps due to its new hybrid freemium/premium approach along with offering premium memberships and fan clubs, Buzzmode and tip-based shows ... it can feel a bit like a pricey amusement park, especially considering that performer-wise, there's nothing really here that separates Cams.com from its competitors.
The Good News
- Some nice, new features
- Excellent performer profiles
- Easy to use and navigate
The Bad News
- Party chat costs are too high
- Annoying Buzzmode popups in chat roms
- Limited performer diversity
